Noise Characterization of Devices for Optical Computing

Abstract

The major objective of the research effort is to investigate the noise characteristics of advanced optical Sources, spatial light modulators, and other devices which are candidates for applications in optical computers. In the past three years we have made progress in two main areas: developed and refined a Volterra Series-based nonlinear model for optical devices, and additional measurements on real optical spatial light modulators.
