Proceedings of the 1996 Conference on Advances in Toxicology and Applications to Risk Assessment

Abstract

The 1996 Conference on Advances in Toxicology and Applications to Risk Assessment covered a large number of topics of interest to toxicologists, risk assessors, and environmental managers. Leading scientists presented findings in one of five subject areas: (1) Environmental Risk Assessment Program; (2) Ecological Risk: Assessment, Incorporation, and Application; (3) Biologically Based Modeling Applications in Risk Assessment of Toxic Substances; (4) Risk-Based Guidelines and Applications of Reference Values; and (5) Risk Communication in the Federal Government. The conference also featured a poster session as well as a database/modeling demonstration. Papers submitted by the invited speakers and abstracts of all oral and poster presentations are included in this report. This conference was supported by the Air Force, Army, Navy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and was attended by representatives of government, industry, and academia.
