Adaptive Optics, July 8-12, 1996, Maui, Hawaii, Volume 13

Abstract

The adaptive optics topical meeting provided an international forum for discussion on adaptive optics for atmospheric turbulence compensation. Its approach centered on three types of sessions: reviews of techniques and technologies by experts in the field; poster sessions, including one minute oral presentation, providing detailed information on individual systems, techniques, etc; and interactive sessions allowing people working on similar problems to raise and discuss their concerns and solutions. Major topics of this meeting include: (1) Adaptive Optics Systems, (2) Laser Technology and Laser Guide Stars, (3) Real Implementation Problems and Issues, (4) Astronomical Science and Techniques, (5) Post-Processing of Adaptive Optics Corrected Imagery, (6) Additional Adaptive Optics Applications, (7) Atmospheric and Adaptive Optics Performance Characterization, (8) Wavefront Sensing Techniques and Detectors, (9) Adaptive Optics Control Optimization, and (1) Wave-front Correctors.
