Conditional Estimation of Vector Patterns in Remote Sensing and GIS

Abstract

Within this interim report, we examine specific algorithms for the automatic conversion of raster data into an equivalent co-registered vector format. The focus of this effort is toward automated techniques for the geometric conversion of raster data using high precision edge detection. This investigation will initially focus on perpendicular connections, and will then examine techniques for combining raster patterns. Algorithms for automated conversion of raster data into vector models will be provided within the discussion of each topical area.
