USSR Report: Energy

Abstract

The report consisting a number of articles provides a vivid picture of the current problems, progress and technology in USSR energy production. Many papers primarily deal with the oil production and coal mines. Of most interest are the sessions on electrical power production with particular attention to nuclear power plants, shielding design and nuclear safety engineering procedures. The report additionally addresses the issues of pipeline construction.
