Modelnet: A Modeling and Simulation Environment for Legacy Programs

Abstract

MODELNET is a modeling and simulation environment for running legacy codes on UNIX platforms. It provides a user shell to organize and run a set of related models and exchange data between them. MODELNET assists the model user by providing GUI input, visual model linking tools, context sensitive help, integrated documentation, and shared I/O utilities. It assists the model developer by organizing model directories, compilation tools, and shared libraries. It supports collaborative engineering environments where model and data sharing are important. While MODELNET components are available at essentially no cost, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) offers model integration services and integration training.
