Procedures for Establishing and Maintaining a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB)

Abstract

This Engineering Technical Letter (ETL) presents the procedures for establishing and implementing RABs at Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDSs) for authorized projects including Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) and Ordnance and Explosives (OE). The purpose of RABs is to serve as forums for discussion and exchange of information between agencies and affected communities. They provide an opportunity for stakeholders to have a voice and actively participate in the review of technical documents, to review restoration progress, and to provide individual advice to decision makers regarding restoration activities.
