Madura and Development - Indonesia.

Abstract

This document is a translation of an article which contains information about the settlement of Madura, which is located not far from the island of Java, near Surabaja, and is separated from it by a small sea. On the west, Madura is connected to Java by DKA steamships. The article discusses the history of Madura from its colonial Dutch beginnings to its modern day agricultural practices, politics, and economic policies.
