A Numerical and Experimental Study of Arcjet Fluctuation

Abstract

The work described here is a combined numerical/experimental study of arcjets. The focus of the experimental work has been a parametric study of the onset of instability in arc thruster devices. The focus of the numerical work has been the development of numerical methods for solving the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations in complex geometries.
