1998 Amphibious Systems Working Group Meeting Summary Report.

Abstract

The 1998 Amphibious Systems Research and Development Working Group Meeting was held August 19 and 20, 1998, at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme, California. The purpose of the meeting was to provide one forum for users, sponsors, researchers, and engineers to discuss 1998 accomplishments, current issues, the future of project development, and programmatic issues in an efficient manner. Some of the major topics of discussion at this meeting were Sealift Support, Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore, the Sealift R&D Program, Rapid Ship to Shore Transport, Fuel Programs, Rapid Nearshore Geotechnical Survey, J-LOTS Lessons Learned, the Intuitive Joystick Control System, the Pile Splicer, Asset Tracking, and others.
