Abstract

JPRS publications contain information primarily from foreign newspapers, periodicals and books, but also from news agency transmissions and broad- casts. Materials from foreign-language sources are translated; those from English-language sources are transcribed or reprinted, with the original phrasing and other characteristics retained. This report contains articles concerning engineering and equipment in the USSR. Topics include marine and shipbuilding, nuclear energy, non-nuclear energy, construction, industrial technology, turbine and engine design, navigation and guidance systems, high-energy devices, optics and photography, fluid mechanics, mechanics of solids, and aeronautical and space issues.
