Development of the Air Force-Army Military Skill Linkage System (MISL).

Abstract

Based on a need identified by Headquarters, Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff; Personnel, this effort developed and implemented a methodology for identifying comparable Army and Air Force military specialties. An extensive review, comparison, and documentation of current Air Force and Army jobs, identifying equivalent data elements and existing data bases was completed to provide candidate data elements for the linkage system. A methodology for linking Air Force and Army jobs was developed and validated by contractor and service representatives. The expert team job rating approach, results, and subsequent linkage system are described in the report.
