Health Assessment Risk - PERICLES Improvement (HARPI).

Abstract

The U.S. Army has been tasked to evaluate the status of public health in foreign countries in response to a Presidential Decision Directive. An analytic methodology is required to assess the public heal challenges facing each nation and each country's capabilities to respond. This methodology enhances the U.S. Army's ability to evaluate the risk of instability in foreign countries as a result of the public health situation in that nation. The status of public health in each nation is evaluated using the methodology developed in order to identify countries facing potential crises and to formulate potential U.S. responses.
