The Mystery of the Slovenian Military Success in 1991

Abstract

This document focuses on the historical experiences of the Slovenian struggle for independence. The paper provides an historical overview and elementary reasons for the disintegration of Yugoslavia. The main part describes previously unknown events before independence, Slovenian political and military preparations and Yugoslav attempts to stabilize the circumstances. The essay briefly describes the short, ten-day period of war, Slovenian and Yugoslav military actions, strategic decisions and the primary reasons for the Yugoslav's military defeat.
