Military Use of Command SATCOM: Benfits, Costs and Challenges.

Abstract

This paper discusses several aspects of the United States military's use of commercial satellite communications. Although much of the discussion applies to all of the uniformed services, the focus here is on the Department of the Navy which is the largest user of commercial satellite communications resources in the Department of Defense. A diverse set of references is provided for readers interested in further exploration.
