The Military Significance of the Sino-Soviet Border in the Far East

Abstract

The Sino-Soviet border in the Far East developed into its present state over a period of more than three centuries. The primary force in the development of this border was Russia's eastward and southward expansion and the filling of a vacuum between China and Russia. This thesis examines that portion of the Sino-Soviet border which delineates the area commonly known as Manchuria.
