Summary of the Lovanger International Workshop on Turbulence and Diffussion in the Stable Planetary Boundary Layer

Abstract

Topics addressed included: (1) the very stable boundary layer, (2) gravity wave/turbulence interactions, (3) modeling the stable boundary layer, (4) future observations and new measurement techniques, (5) the role of condensation (fog) and radiative flux divergence, and (6) atmospheric diffusion. Invited papers appear in this special issue. Workshop discussions, informal presentations, and specific recommendations are summarized. Workshop participants and organizers are presented in the Appendix.
