Natural Hazards Informer, No 1, July 1999,

Abstract

The National Hazards Informer is published irregularly by the Natural Hazards Research and Applications Information Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The Informer provide a concise, peer-reviewed synthesis of state-of-the-art research on specific hazard issues. Its purpose is to provide natural hazards practitioners and emergency management specialists knowledge they can use to better prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of natural disasters.
