Supersonic COIL Driven by a Jet Singlet Oxygen Generator

Abstract

This report results from a contract tasking Institute of Physics Academy of Sciences as follows: The contractor will complete the chemical oxygen-iodine laser (COIL) by adding newly fabricated components; test the operation of individual parts of the whole COIL system and attempt to optimize the operation of each of them; and test the completed device as a laser by determining the output power, the small signal gain, the saturation intensity, the optical extraction efficiency, and the chemical efficiency.
