Influence Entree Selection at the Point-of-Purchase in a Military Cafeteria

Abstract

This study assessed the effectiveness of an Air Force point of purchase nutrition labeling program (The "Check it Out" program) in influencing sales of targeted entrees. The degree of perceived influence that certain factors such as taste, appearance, fat content, calorie content, price, and quality had on meal selections also was measured.
