Ground Based Common Sensor System Fielding.

Abstract

This report, which is the first of two reports on the Ground Based Common Sensor Program, addressed a pending Army contractual action. The second report will address the congressional request to review the program management, costs, and technology approach for the Ground Based Common Sensor (GBCS) Program. This report discusses the Army's plan to field four GBCS Systems to the 82d Airborne Division. The GBCS System was an Acquisition Category III program that was to provide division commanders with the capability to search, intercept, and listen to signals intelligence data, and to precisely locate the signal's point-of-origin for hard-kill or electronic attack. The GBCS System was to be fielded in three platform configurations, the GBCS-Light, the GBCS-Heavy, and the Advanced Quicklix.
