DLA Demonstration Marine Short Sleeve Shirt Year 3

Abstract

The Cal Poly Demo (Demo) was funded by the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) Apparel Research Network (ARN) to establish a research and demonstration manufacturing activity. The work of the Demo is in support of the DLA and Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia's (DSCP) requirement to provide apparel items to the military services. The Demo was specifically directed to determine true costs and document problems related to the manufacturing of military apparel items. The Cal Poly Demo produces military items in small quantities and used the Marine men's short sleeve dress shirt as one of its study subjects. This report includes the findings of the study for the Demo's Year 3 manufacturing of the shirt.
