Overlapping Inpatient Treatment Expenditures for DOD Beneficiaries Enrolled in Medicare Health Maintenance Organization Plans

Abstract

The overall audit objective was to determine DoD military treatment facility expenses for inpatient treatment of beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare health maintenance organization plans. We also explored alternatives to eliminate overlapping Federal Government expenditures for beneficiaries with dual eligibility.
