Concept Phase Evaluation of the Microvision, Inc. Aircrew Integrated Helmet System HGU-56P Virtual Retinal Display,

Abstract

In support of the RAH-66 Comanche, Microvision Inc., Seattle, Washington, has developed a prototype helmet mounted display based on laser diode sources. This prototype has been evaluated for optical and visual performance. Tests include: exit pupil size and shape, eye relief, field-of-view, luminance, contrast, contrast transfer function(CTF), modulation transfer function(MTF), and interpupilary distance and vertical adjustments.
