The World in 4 M's: A Strategy Primer.

Abstract

To help today's leaders make the best decisions under the circumstances, organizational and strategic planners have developed a variety of analytical decision-making tools. This article proposes one such decision-making tool we call the "World in 4 M's" because of the way it defines and graphs human systems by four basic components: mind, morale, muscle and materiel (the "4 M's"). We believe this 4 M approach offers a unique way of analyzing nations and geographic regions for the purpose of assessing relative power and possible threats to national security. The article first discusses the concept behind the 4 M approach and then illustrates sample applications of the 4 M process.
