Company Decontamination Systems (Compagnieontsmettingssystemen)

Abstract

The usage of a high pressure water jet and of a steam cleaner are compared to each other for the possible usage in a decontamination street of the Royal Netherlands Army. A decontamination street consists of a preliminary-cleaner a decontamination device and a after-cleaner. The usage of a water jet or of a steam cleaner in each separate station of the decontamination street is discussed. A water jet can be used best for the preliminary-cleaning, and a steamcleaner can be used for the after-cleaning. Decontamination is usually being done with other types of liquid, but the decontamination efficiency of a water jet and a steamcleaner are studied and compared here too. The decontamination efficiency of each type of apparatus is dependent on the type of contamination.
