Management of Resources at the DoD Electronic Commerce Office.

Abstract

The DoD Electronic Commerce Office was established within the Defense Logistics Agency but was functionally under the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition Reform). The Defense Logistics Agency provided personnel and administrative services, while the DoD Electronic Commerce Office reported to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition Reform) for mission related issues. The mission of the DoD Electronic Commerce Office was to facilitate DoD-wide implementation of electronic commerce/electronic data interchange and to ensure DoD compliance with legislation directing the use of electronic commerce for Federal purchases.
