Defense Information Systems Agency Megacenter Consolidation

Abstract

The Deputy Secretary of Defense requested this audit to review issues raised by Senator Tom Harkin, Iowa, concerning the Defense Information Systems Agency megacenter consolidation. Specifically, Senator Harkin was concerned that errors were made in applying the Defense Information Systems Agency criteria, which resulted in certain megacenters receiving higher than appropriate scoring, and to what extent the Defense Megacenter Rock Island, Illinois, might have been given a lower than appropriate score. A total of 13 issues were raised. Congressman Jim Leach also expressed interest in this matter. The audit objective was to review the specific issues raised by Senator Harkin.
