Development of a Low-VOC Aircraft Wheel Well Cleaner

Abstract

An aircraft wheel well cleaning gel has been developed on D-limonene, isoparaffinic hydrocarbon, and surfactants, which meets the requirements of MIL-PRF-85570C Type V. Laboratory and field-testing suggest that this product has good performance characteristics and will be a suitable replacement for aromatic solvent-based products previously used in this application.
