Lateral Heat Flow Effects on Thermographic Sensitivity

Abstract

The report contains viewgraphs covering information associated with lateral heat flow effects on thermographic sensitivity. Thermography is increasingly being used as an quantitative NDE tool to detect damage in materials. Most of the theoretical analysis performed on thermographic data involves the use of one dimensional models or finite element analysis. This is due to the inability to account for lateral heat effects in an analytical fashion.
