Contracting Officer Price Analysis

Abstract

The audit objective was to determine whether contracting officers were complying with the Federal Acquisition Regulation requirement to use price analysis techniques to evaluate prices in contract proposals. Specifically, we determined whether price analysis techniques were appropriately used, adequately detailed, and properly documented and whether certified cost or pricing data were requested only when required. The audit also evaluated the adequacy of management control programs as they applied to the audit objective.
