Virtual Laboratory/Model Abstraction Testbed

Abstract

The objective of this effort was to develop the foundation for a simulation model abstraction service, operating within the context of a distributed virtual laboratory within AFRL. Such a model abstraction service would create simpler versions of detailed simulation models that are compatible with the DoD High Level Architecture (HLA), consuming fewer resources while providing equivalent results. The vast majority of the work was performed onsite, and resulted in the establishment of an AFRL/IFSB modeling and simulation laboratory that will be used to support future model development, model abstraction, and analysis activities.
