Frequency Screening of First Stage Turbine Blades in the T56-A-7B Engine

Abstract

Historically it has been difficult to obtain accurate and repeatable frequency data for the first bending mode of turbine blades. This report summarises the technique used by AMRL to screen first stage T56-A-713 turbine blades for the Royal Australian Air Force as part of an investigation into the failure of these blades in service.
