Progress Report on Methods of Analysis Applicable to Monocoque Aircraft Structures. Air Service Information Circular, Volume 8, Number 713.

Abstract

Historical study of methods of analysis applicable to the design of monocoque aircraft structures. Surveys tile rational theoretical procedures developed for, and applicable to, stiffened and unstiffened stressed skin structures to see which methods could be used in aircraft design, which could be used if modified by the introduction of empirical coefficients, and which appeared to be inapplicable regardless of how they were changed.
