Man in Simulant Testing of the Mark IV and Kappler CPF3 Protective Suits

Abstract

Man in Simulant Testing of the British Mark IV and Kappler CPF3 was conducted to determine suitability for use under the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program. The Mark IV was configured with a powered air puriflying respirator (PAPR) standard butyl gloves, and green vinyl overboots (GVO). The Kappler CPF3 used the self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) respirator, standard butyl gloves, and toxicological agent protective (TAP) boots. All tests were conducted with the mustard agent simulant methyl salicylate at a concentration of 50 mg/cu m for 30 min.
