Defense Finance and Accounting Service Billing Rates

Abstract

This is the second in a series of reports we plan to issue as part of our Audit of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Administration of Unit Cost Rates. As part of the Defense Business Operations Fund, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) is required to recover operating costs by charging fees or cost recovery rates to customers for goods and services. The Defense Business Operations Fund pricing policy requires that cost recovery rates, or billing rates, promote cost visibility and motivate cost effective behavior.
