Abstract

JPRS publications contain information primarily from foreign newspapers, periodicals and books, but also from news agency transmissions and broadcasts. Materials from foreign-language sources are translated; those from English-language sources are transcribed or reprinted, with the original phrasing and other characteristics retained. This report contains articles on various topics about Southeast Asia including military affairs and public security, international relations, trade and foreign aid, economic planning, trade and finance, agriculture, political parties and government, light industry, health, education and welfare, population, customs and culture, biographies and publications.
