An Analysis of the Novel The Brick Courtyard: North Vietnam.

Abstract

This report consists of a translation of the analysis of the novel The Brick Courtyard, written by Dao Vu. Perhaps The Brick Courtyard is the first novel on agricultural collectivization subjected to the most intensive discussions and most heated debate. Following three sessions of discussion organized by the Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Society of Writers, almost all the newspapers carried editorial comments and expessed their opinions on the novel.
