Abstract

The mission of the BYMDC is to "Recruit and enroll eligible Department of Defense (DOD) members and other eligible personnel into the National Marrow Don Program Registry; support the DoD contingency requirement for unrelated bone marrow donations and tissue typed matched blood platelets: support and contribute to ongoing research in tissue typing techniques and unrelated marrow transplantation efficacy (especially as it relates to donors); and to provide outstanding management services to those members who are selected as potential marrow donors.
