Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) 1999 National Conference

Abstract

The Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) national conference was a three-day forum to inform and update federal, state and local law enforcement agents, of the DoD role supporting the National Drug Control Strategy. DoD is authorized to transfer excess DoD personal property (i.e., from rifles to armor vehicles) to assist drug law enforcement agencies (LEAs). Operational responsibility belongs to the Defense Logistics Agency via. LESO. This forum allowed LESO staff to update current program participants on new issues and to demonstrate to new and potential users on how LESO could assist LEAs with property distribution via memorandum of agreements and how to fill-out required documentation.
