Abstract

JPRS publications contain information primarily from foreign newspapers, periodicals and books, but also from news agency transmissions and broadcasts. Materials from foreign-language sources are translated; those from English-language sources are transcribed or reprinted, with the original phrasing and other characteristics retained. This serial report contains articles concerning the development of and progress in the various theoretical and applied scientific disciplines and technical fields; and the administration, structure, personnel, and research plans of leading East European scientific organizations and institutions, particularly the academies of sciences.
