A Comprehensive Repository of Normal and Tumor Human Breast Tissues and Cells

Abstract

We have successfully established a breast tissue repository which contains over 250 individual breast specimens. In addition, we have cryopreserved and cultured cells from human breast tumor tissues and have established 21 new human breast tumor cell lines (including one with a BRCA-I mutation). The repository also includes breast epithelial and stromal cell strains derived from non cancerous breast tissue as well as peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The new breast tumor cell lines have been deposited at the ATCC repository for unrestricted distribution.
