Hotline Allegations Concerning Production Contracts for Amphibious Assault Vehicles

Abstract

We are providing this memorandum report for your information and use. The audit was performed in response to allegations made in a letter to the Inspector General, DoD, relating to the closeout of contracts N00024-82-C-2OlO and N00024-82-C-2185. The complainant made nine allegations, addressing concerns about the lack of evidence of deliveries of contractual items, the adequacy of controls over special tooling, the difficulty in reconciling contractual line items and modifications, the questionable use of funds, and delays in closing the two contracts.
