Export Licensing at DoD Research Facilities

Abstract

The overall audit objective was to evaluate the adequacy of DoD policies and procedures to prevent the transfer of technologies and technical information with potential military application to countries and entities of concern. Specifically, we evaluated procedures for determining whether a deemed export license was required when a foreign national visited a DoD research facility. We also reviewed the management control program as it related to the overall objective.
