Private Development of the Navy Broadway Complex, San Diego, California

Abstract

The Navy plans to lease 13.5 acres of downtown San Diego, California, waterfront property, valued at $50 million, to a private developer for 65 years in exchange for a minimum of 450,000 square feet of office space on the same property. The lessee will develop the property with hotel, retail, and office space. The audit was the result of information filed with the DoD Hotline concerning the Navy plan.
