Prioritizing Army Space Needs

Abstract

The Army Science Board was tasked to analyze current Army space uses and needs for future space systems to ensure adequate support for Army XXI and AAN. The Study highlights the importance of space products to the Army warfighters and recommends more active Army participation in the planning and execution of future US space systems. The study provides numerous assessments and recommendations in the areas of: organization/personnel, national space systems, use of commercial space capabilities, and non-space systems. The study also outlines time-urgent organization/process recommendations and time-urgent program opportunities requiring immediate attention from Army leadership.
