Correlation of Heat Transfer Data Obtained by the Infrared Scanner and Temperature Sensitive Coating Techniques

Abstract

An infrared scanning system was used to measure heat transfer rates on a sharp leading edge flat plate with a three-dimensional shock generator attached. Results were compared with data previously obtained on the same model using temperature sensitive phase change coatings.
