WDM Laser Sources for the Defense University (Testbed) Research Internet Program (DUTRIP)

Abstract

These specification were discussed with a number of vendors. Ortel Corporation was identified as a low cost supplier capable of satisfying all of the above specifications. Ortel Corporation fabricated and delivered 52 arrays of WDM lasers, each operating at four wavelengths, as specified above. We have established a testing methodology for these WDM arrays and conducted extensive test. The results are summarized in an attached paper, presented at the 1999 SPIE Photonics West in San Jose.
