Experiences With a Simple Skin Friction Balance Design
Abstract
The Flight Dynamics Laboratory is engaged in compressible boundary layer research in our M=3 and M=6 High Reynolds Number Facilities (HRNF). A good direct reading skin friction balance is required to accurately define the shearing stresses on smooth and rough surfaces and for development of indirect measurement techniques.
