Calibration of the Pebble Bed Heated Facility

Abstract

The Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory high Temperature Pebble Bed Heated Facility test section was re-calibrated using the 150 inch long Mach 10 contoured nozzle. Measurements made with the 8-tube impact pressure rake indicate the nozzle is producing satisfactory flow for continued aerodynamic testing. Selected results of the calibration runs are presented in this report to show the test section Mach number distribution variation with stagnation pressure and axial station.
